Final Polishing Film

Final Polishing Films are made by coating polyester film with precision graded Silicon Dioxide mineral. Typical nominal grading is 0.02 microns. Final Polishing Films are used for the final polish of fiber optic connectors, light guides, and SEM and TEM samples.

3M 863X (869X with PSA) - Provides superior fiber height control but requires longer polishing time.

3M 863XW (869XW with PSA) - Higher mineral content than 863X, making it more aggressive for faster polishing. Designed to use on machines that run at lower speeds and lower pressures.

3M 865X - Long lasting. Lasts 2 to 3 times longer than 863X or 863XW. Maintains good fiber height with tight standard deviation.
